Henri SAINT CYR biography

Henri Saint Cyr was the first rider to win two individual Olympic gold medals in dressage, those coming in 1952 and 1956. He also helped Sweden win team dressage gold medals at both Olympics. Saint Cyr began his Olympic career in 1936 at Berlin when he was on the Swedish three-day event team. As an eventer, Saint Cyr was Swedish national champion in 1935, 1937, and 1939. Saint Cyr later won a World Championship in individual dressage in 1953 at Wiesbaden. In 1956 he took the oath of the competitors at the Equestrian Olympics which were held in Stockholm.
