Competing on the World Cup circuit between 1979 and 1992, Miran Tepeš never managed a win, finishing second on six occasions. Consistent results in the 1987 season earned him a fourth place in the overall World Cup standings. His best World Championship result also came that season, taking 12th place in the normal hill competition; at the World Ski Flying Championships he managed a sixth place in 1985.
