Through the early 21st century Shannon Miller had the top record of any American female gymnast, winning seven Olympic medals, and was the leader of the US team that won the team gold medal at Atlanta in 1996. Miller was World All-Around Champion in 1993 and 1994, and won the 1995 Pan Am Games All-Around gold medal. She won five gold medals and a silver at the 1993-94 Worlds.
