Gymnast Simone Biles become an international superstar on her Olympic Games debut at Rio 2016, winning four gold medals and captivating the crowds with her strength, grace and incredible versatility.
She won Team gold with the United States as well as individual gold in the All-Around, Vault and Floor - as well as bronze on the Balance Beam.
Diminutive in stature but powerful and agile, Biles was already on her way to establishing herself as a legend within the sport, having won the most World Championships gold medals of any other female gymnast by the age of 19. But her performances at the Games in Brazil ensured fame across the globe.
Her Olympic achievements saw her become just the fifth woman to win four gold medals at a single Games.
Biles, who took up gymnastics at the age of six and began training under her current coach Aimee Boorman when she was eight. is a dual citizen of the USA and Belize. Her mother's drug and alcohol addictions meant Biles was adopted by her biological grandfather Ron Biles and his second wife, Nellie, whom Simone proudly call mum and dad.
