One of the greatest and most consistent figure skaters of all time, Yuna Kim never finished lower than third in a competition.
The South Korean is the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014 champion and the Vancouver 2010 silver medallist in ladies singles, as well as a two-time world champion from 2009 and 2013.
She is an iconic figure in her homeland where her fame and achievements have earned her the nickname “Queen Yuna”.
Kim, a six-time national champion, is the first South Korean figure skater to win a medal at each of the major international skating events.
She was crowned world junior champion and also won the Grand Prix final three times 2007, 2008 and 2010. And including her two titles, Kim has won a total of six World Championships medals.
During her career, Kim broke the world record 11 times, eight of which were her own marks. She retired after the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014 at the age of 23.
