India’s Aditi Ashok just made the cut at the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open golf event in Spain after finishing tied-54 post the first two rounds. Compatriot Diksha Dagar, placed tied-86, however, missed the mark by six shots.

The Andalucia Costa del Sol Open golf tournament being played at the Real Club De Golf Guadalmina in Malaga, Spain, is the final event of the Ladies European Tour (LET) 2020 season.

With multiple interruptions due to heavy rain and bad light conditions, both Aditi and Diksha struggled to get going.

Aditi Ashok carded six bogeys against just a single birdie to finish the first round on five over 77. Her only birdie came on the par-five 14th hole.

The 22-year-old Aditi was slightly better in the second round, finishing with a three-over 75 on the par-72 course. She shot two birdies – on the first and 16th – but was pegged back by three bogeys and a double bogey on the par-three 15th hole.

With the total of eight-over after two rounds, Aditi Ashok made the cut, but only just.

Diksha Dagar, meanwhile, endured a torrid first round and carded a disappointing 11-over 83. The 19-year-old hit three birdies but carded six bogeys and four double bogeys on the opening day.

Her second round featured three birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey and the final score was identical to Aditi’s second round haul of three-over 75. With a total of 14-over, Diksha missed the cut by six shots.
