Indian boxing’s premier talents MC Mary Kom and Amit Panghal will look to join Pooja Rani and Vikas Krishan at the 2020 Olympics, when they enter the ring for their Asian boxing Olympic qualifiers quarter-final bouts on Monday.

Indian legend Mary Kom has been in fine shape in Amman, Jordan, winning her only bout in a convincing manner.

The Manipur pugilist used all her experience against New Zealand’s Tasmyn Benny in the round-of-16 of the women’s flyweight (51kg) division to record a unanimous win.

But in the quarters, Mary Kom will have to be on her toes if she is to get past Irish Magno of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, things won’t be any easy for Amit Panghal as well. After scraping past Mongolia's Enkhmanadakh Kharkhuu in his previous round, the top-seed will face the Philippines' Carlo Paalam

Apart from Mary Kom and Amit Panghal, the other Indian boxer looking to seal a place at the 2020 Olympics on Monday include the likes of the 2019 AIBA World Championships bronze medallist Manish Kaushik (63kg), Sakshi Chaudhary (57kg) and Simranjit Kaur (60kg).
