Having made statements of intent in the opening week of Bundesliga 2020-21, both Bayern Munich and rivals Borussia Dortmund will look to carry forward the momentum when they face Hoffenheim and Augsburg, respectively, this weekend.

The two German giants will be on the road for their matchweek 2 fixtures. Fans in India can watch the Bundesliga matches, including Hoffenheim vs Bayern Munich and Augsburg vs Dortmund, on live stream.

Reigning champions Bayern Munich got their Bundesliga title defence off and running with a massive 8-0 home win over Schalke in the opening matchweek.

Former Arsenal man Serge Gnabry grabbed a hat-trick as Bayern put Schalke to the sword. Star striker Robert Lewandowski, Leon Goretzka, Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane and 17-year-old Jamal Musiala grabbed the other five goals.

Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane scored in the Bundesliga champions’ 8-0 victory over Schalke last week.

Musiala, in fact, became Bayern’s all-time youngest goalscorer in the league, breaking the record set by an 18-year-old Roque Santa Cruz.

Bayern will be full of confidence heading into the second match of their domestic campaign against Hoffenheim but will first need to navigate their UEFA Super Cup final against Sevilla at the Puskas Arena on Friday.

Two big matches in 72 hours will be a tough test for the Bavarians but the UEFA Champions League 2019-20 winners have enough squad depth to negate any possible exhaustion issues.

Hoffenheim, meanwhile, started their Bundesliga campaign with a hard-fought 3-2 win over FC Koln last week. The side will be eager to upset the champions at home this Sunday.

Young Dortmund firing all cylinders

Bayern’s arch-rivals Dortmund also made a positive start to their campaign, beating Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-0 in their season-opener.

Highly-rated English youngster Jude Bellingham made his Bundesliga debut in the match and set up fellow teenager Giovanni Reyna for the opening goal.

Another Englishman, Jadon Sancho, who is reportedly Premier League giants Manchester United’s top target in this transfer window, also picked up an assist.

Dortmund will be next facing FC Augsburg, who won their opening fixture against Union Berlin 3-1 and will look to pose a challenge to Dortmund.
