Chennaiyin FC (CFC) kick off their Indian Super League (ISL) 2020-21 season with a fixture against Jamshedpur FC at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Goa on November 24.

The stakes will only go up in the next two matches as southern rivals Kerala Blasters FC and Bengaluru FC await them in their next two ISL 2020-21 fixtures at the GMC Stadium.

With two ISL trophies under their belt, Chennaiyin FC are one of the most successful sides in the competition. Co-owned by cricket star MS Dhoni and Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, the club were also the finalists last season, going down to ATK in the finale.

Compared to last season, fans can expect a very new-look Chennaiyin FC squad in ISL season 7.

Former head coach Owen Coyle, who led Chennaiyin to the final in ISL 2019-20, has moved on to take over the reins of Jamshedpur FC. Leading Chennaiyin FC's title charge in ISL 2020-21 will be Hungarian Csaba Laszlo.

Laszlo has previously coached the Ugandan and Lithuanian national football teams and has the experience of coaching at club level at several countries including Scotland, Hungary and Belgium.

Familiar Indian faces like Vishal Kaith, Anirudh Thapa, Jerry Lalrinzuala, Dhanpal Ganesh, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Edwin Vanspaul and others are set to return this campaign for the Marina Machans.

Chennaiyin FC will, however, play ISL 2020-21 with a very new-look foreign contingent. Only Brazilian defender Eli Sabia and playmaker Rafael Crivellaro have been retained from last season's foreign players.

ISL 6's Golden Boot winner Nerijus Valskis has left the club for new pastures but the management has roped in former Dinamo Zagreb frontman Jakub Sylvestr, former Portugal U-21 international Esmael Goncalves and Tajik winger Fatkhullo Fatkhuloev as reinforcements upfront.

Former Jamshedpur defensive midfielder Memo Moura and Bosnia and Herzegovinian defender Enes Sipovic have also joined to add some steel to Chennaiyin FC's defence for ISL season 7.

A total of 10 Chennaiyin FC matches will be played until January 11. Rest of the fixtures will be announced later.
