Inna Osypenko-Radomska has been suspended after refusing an out-of-competition drug test.

The 2008 Olympic kayak gold medallist Inna Osypenko-Radomska has been suspended for the next four years, the International Canoe Federation (ICF) has announced.

The 36-year-old, who won medals at the last four Olympic Games, was sanctioned after refusing to undergo an out-of-competition drug test in May.

Five Time Medallist

When representing Ukraine, she took K-4 500m bronze at Athens 2004, K- 500m gold at Beijing 20018 and two silvers at London 2012.

She then began competing for Azerbaijan in 2014 and won bronze in the K-1 200m at Rio 2016.

Test Refusal

Osypenko-Radomska has not competed since refusing the test.

“A four-year ban sends a clear message to all our athletes that they are expected to play by the rules,” ICF General Secretary, Simon Toulson, said in a statement.

“If an athlete believes by refusing or evading a drug test they will escape a ban, they need to think again. We will ensure they face the full force of the law.”

Osypenko-Radomska has until 19th September to lodge an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
