The sports world reacts with heartfelt messages after Notre Dame blaze

The world of sport has come together to show their respect after a massive fire ravaged the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

Stars from around the world took to Instagram and Twitter to express their heartache for France.

Two-time alpine skiing Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin voiced her sadness as she tweeted: "This is unbelievable. Heartbreaking news from Paris."

Tennis ace Rafael Nadal, Football greats Neymar and his Paris Saint-Germain team mate Kylian Mbappe as well as PyeongChang 2018 Olympic figure skating medallists Gabriella Papadakis and Adam Rippon also posted heartfelt tributes via social media.
