In addition to his 1988 Olympic 4x100 freestyle relay gold, Lang won golds in the 100 freestyle and 4x100 free at 1989 Pan Pacific Meet, and was a 1991 World Champion in the 4x100 free relay. He also won gold in the 4x200 free relay at the 1987 Universiade. In 2015 Lang was inducted into the University of Michigan’s Hall of Honor.

In business, Lang worked from 1991-93 as a strategy consultant with Monitor, but then joined 3Com Corporation, where he was senior director of marketing for six years. In 2001 he joined Vocera, a healthcare communication company. He started with Vocera as a vice-president of marketing and business development, but moved up in the company and in 2007 he was named Chief Operating Officer, and in 2013 was named President and CEO of Vocera.

In December 2014, Lang received the 2015 Silver Anniversary Award, presented annually by the NCAA to six outstanding former student-athletes 25 years after their college sports careers had ended.
