At just fourteen years and three months old, Tom Daley was the youngest British Olympian since rowing coxswain Ken Lester, when he competed at the Beijing Olympics. Daley, who began diving at the age of seven, won the British national junior (under-18) platform title in 2004 just a few days after his tenth birthday. In 2007 he became the youngest ever winner of a British senior title when he took the individual platform event and the following years retained his title and added the synchronised event with partner Blake Aldridge.
