Uschi DISL biographie

Uschi Disl has been the most successful women’s biathlete at the Olympic Games. She has had a very long career, starting biathlon in 1986, first competing internationally in 1990, and finishing fifth and eighth that year at the two World Championship events. Women’s biathlon became an Olympic sport in 1992. Disl has since won nine Olympic medals, including gold in the relay events of 1998 and 2002. She has not yet won an individual Olympic gold medal, with two silver and two bronze in the individual events since 1994. At the World Championships, she has won eleven medals, with four golds in the relay, but an individual championship has again eluded her. Disl has recorded 27 wins in World Cup events, but has never ranked first in the World Cup standings for a full season.
